Creativity is an essential skill that is developed in your child’s daycare center and can be further nurtured at home. The ability to be creative enables children to solve problems openly with more innovation. Likewise, we will share activities that your child can engage in at home to foster creativity.

  • Read to your child.

Reading offers several benefits to young children as it helps develop their vocabulary, imagination, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving abilities. This activity is often performed in pre-kindergarten as it allows kids to ask questions and promotes discussion which develops their thinking skills.

  • Make space for creativity.

Dedicate a corner in the living room or your child’s bedroom for creating art. Provide materials for drawing, painting, and collaging. A blank canvas provides the perfect space for your child who likely has a mind full of ideas.

  • Encourage construction.

Building blocks are a common sign in preschool in Plano — and for good reason. Building blocks involves creating structures, characters, and buildings which promotes creative play. These types of toys nurture your child’s creativity and imagination while keeping them occupied for hours.

  • Limit screen time.

While children can learn from educational programs, too much screen time can have negative effects. Excessive screen time is linked to obesity and sleep problems in kids. Limit your child’s screen time and arrange both indoor and outdoor play in your child’s daily schedule.
